Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night (delete as applicable) Welcome to the first of the Eclipsing Abramovich blog's here we will talk about each team, show you how they did and look at the players that did it. I am FM Lord Chris and me and Luke will be taking it in turns to write these blog's, so please be patient the next blog will be great a lot better than this one.
Unfortunately for the Chairman of "The Genius FC" I have started at the bottom, the team that had been relegated from Division 2.They Where only relegated by one point though so it wasn't as bad as it sounds, but they did win an award from me. That award is (Drum Roll please) that they are the oldest team in the two leagues by quite a distance, Brad Friedel (42) the oldest to ever play in the Scottish Championship (Eclipsing Abramovich league two.)
Two top five player awards where awarded with Demichelis getting 11 yellow cards and he came 3rd. Xavi also came 3rd with 11 assists, which is actually quite impressive with a lot of Lionel Messi's in the league. Although that being said by the looks of things Xavi is the oldest player to be duplicated at least 5 times over the 22 teams.
The first thing I wanted to see is how would they be affected by being relegated financially, as we know getting Relegated from the Premier League in England can hurt around the sum of 50million. I then saw the balance even with the fortunes they are paying to all their 30+ year old superstars, they should survive for a few years if they fail to return back to the Division.
"We want to know what players they have?" I hear you screaming at the PC/Phone/Tablet/you get the picture. "We want to know who these golden oldies are." Well think back 5-10 years ago, it would be the team you would all have picked to try and win Eclipsing Abramovich, Obviously Zidane and Beckhams missing due to retirement and strangely Thierry Henry, who has not retired. Terry, Raul, Drogba and Totti just some of the huge names available to a team that where manager-less until I took over to see their re-gens. The main man though the player I keep looking at is Ronaldinho one of the many older Brazilians that I wish had graced the Premiership, just so I could have seen him weekly.
Now lets focus on the facts rather than me getting all nostalgic over the players past's. As you can see Terry, Raul, Slippy G, Xavi, Cole, Demichelis all played key roles playing 30+ games, with Xavi having the best average rating. As for goals well that is pretty obvious from the pic the Real Madrid superstar, the one the only Raul and 18 for him is amazing. I don't honestly know if I would have picked him to be the top goal scorer or not, You think back and their arn't many better than him, but id have probably said that Ronaldinho, Drogba or Totti would have been my picks for the award. Second place with 12 goals went to Steven Gerrard which again is great for a midfielder and I am a little disappointed to say that as I have spent most the summer saying mean things about him to a Liverpool fan I know, hopefully he wont see this. Luckily my point still stands as Lampard wasn't there. But Stevie showing he is still one of the best Mid fielders around even if he suffered relegation. I think we could have all guessed that Xavi would have been the key in the middle but I am surprised at how little Pirlo featured, both would walk into any top team even at their age. I know Gerrard was in the team but to let Pirlo play only 12 (9) games seems ludicrous to me.
Ill start looking at the players and here is the top goalscorer Those Mental stats's can only be mirrored by Lionel Messi in this game right? He looks a good player even now first touch of 19 technique of 16, but physicals are quite poor but at 36 that has got to be expected. Ill will post the rest of the key players at the bottom of the blog.
Re-gen time and their best one is a DR who is Eclipsing Abramovich in Nationality (Scottish if you hadn't guessed) He is quite a good prospect who will no doubt get more game time than those teams with younger more in prime players. Will that be the advantage for The Genius FC in the future? Below is another re-gen Grant Gallagher who looks just as good if not better. He is a determined and creative midfielder that could quite quickly be a first team player for most teams, I like him wish he came through in a game I was actually managing.
Luckily for you all I am a photoshop master so I have managed to blank out the other team name's so as not to ruin it for other chairmen just yet. I can show you just how close it was form top to the bottom.
Seamless I am available for photo-shopping job thingy's anything that needs a big black box drawn, I can do it almost any size please comment but only if you are Rich as I don't come cheap.Sorry for whoring myself out like that in such a serious blog but you just never know who is reading this. Now down to the other players and here is the other re-gen that wasn't a star potential.
As for fixtures and results it was honestly hard to find a good stand out win, Although an old team im not quite sure the where used to thier best abilities, If a decent manager had been in-charge some results could have been different as they are up to challenging age is only a number.
They didnt have a terrible cup run reaching a semi final and a 5th round which is a highlight even if it took numerous penalty shoot outs and a replay. A very poor run of form at the end sealed their fate one win would have kept them in the division even a draw should have done but luck deserted them.
Below I will post the important players and how they did and what they look like at the end of season One so please enjoy. Thank you for taking your time reading this and Luke will be with you tomorrow if there is anything else you would like to see, anything else you would like to know please feel free to comment or ask at https://www.facebook.com/TheFMAddicts - FM Lord Chris
